Counseling Postdoctoral Fellow
Phillips Academy seeks applications from individuals interested in a one-year appointment to the position of Fellow in Psychological Counseling. As an intentionally diverse community, we seek a culturally sensitive and responsive postdoctoral fellow in clinical or counseling psychology. The goals of the postdoctoral fellowship are for fellows to learn to provide a balance of both short- and long-term counseling and psychotherapy, as well as consultation/liaison (CL) services. They will also collaborate with the medical team as well as faculty members on a regular basis. In addition, fellows will participate in weekly staff meetings, a weekly psychiatry meeting, and will receive two hours of weekly individual supervision. An opportunity to co-teach an empathy, balance, and inclusion (EBI) class weekly is also available. All applicants must have completed an APA approved internship and have specific previous clinical experience with adolescents, ideally in a secondary and/or a residential educational setting. Additionally, trainees should have knowledge, experience, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as strong cultural competency and responsiveness skills. Additional information about Phillips Academy’s commitment to student health and wellness can be found here and our multi-faceted approach to health and wellness is described on this web page.
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Please visit our application portal to submit a resume, two letters of reference and a cover letter addressing your interest and experience in working in an intentionally diverse residential community. Letters should be written to the attention of Patrick Farrell, Dean of Faculty, Phillips Academy. Phillips Academy is an equal opportunity employer. Full background check required.
