HVAC TechnicianThe Office of
Physical Plant at Phillips Academy seeks a full time HVAC Technician. The qualified candidate must have a High
School Diploma, minimum of 5 years’ experience in the HVAC discipline, and possess a current
Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Refrigeration Technician Licenses. Having a current Massachusetts
Sheet Metal Workers License is a plus.
This position
requires proficiency in instrumentation, refrigeration, direct digital
controls, and pneumatics, for residential and commercial HVAC systems. Operational knowledge of building management
systems (Siemens preferred), and a working knowledge of all trades that make up
mechanical and plumbing systems is required. Maintenance and repairs on HVAC
systems located in buildings, in underground vaults, and confined spaces, as
well as reading and
understanding construction documents, shop drawings, layout work, and material
lists, are some of
the essential duties of this position.
Applicants must
have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the physical ability to
perform all job functions as required in a facilities setting on a boarding
high school campus. Overtime required as necessary. When
emergencies and/or extreme weather conditions occur, the functions of this
position may be deemed essential, and employees must report to work and/or
remain on duty during their regularly scheduled work hours or the work hours
designated by their supervisors. Must have and use personal vehicle while
performing job duties.
