Fitness Center Monitor

Under the immediate supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, the Fitness Center Monitor is responsible for the oversight of the fitness facility ensuring the appropriate use of all fitness equipment and maintaining a safe and positive workout environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for opening, closing and securing the facility
  • Enforces fitness center policies and procedures
  • Educate students and/ or faculty on the safe and proper use of the equipment
  • Oversees the cleanliness and upkeep of the fitness center
  • Reports equipment malfunction/ damage or maintenance needs
  • Properly triage and report any first aid or injuries
  • Maintain positive and appropriate mentoring relationships with student population

Required Experience:

  • Working knowledge of anatomy, safe training procedures, and the proper use of aerobic, free weight, and related fitness equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Awareness of safety concerns and risk management
  • Ability to work with students of all fitness levels

CPR and First Aid Certifications will be required.

Physical Education and Exercise Science or Sport Medicine Majors highly preferred

The hours are 2:00PM -8:00 PM Monday –Friday during the academic year, in addition to Saturdays 9:00AM- 2:00PM during the winter term.  This position is eligible for prorated benefits.
